Terms of Use

These are the rules for using Flex Marks the Spot ("FMTS", "we"). By using the site you agree to them. We wrote them in plain words so you can read them.

The short version

  • The site is free to use for personal planning. You keep what you post.
  • Prices, stock, compatibility notes, and shipping figures are estimates. Check the store before you buy.
  • Nothing here is professional, medical, or safety advice. Verify weight ratings before you load a bar or hang on an attachment.
  • No affiliate links, spam, or harassment in what you post.
  • We can remove content and close accounts that break the rules.
  • The service is provided as is, and our liability is limited.

Who can use the site

You must be 18 or over, or 13 or over with a parent's permission. Children under 13 may not use the site. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself. One account per person.

What the site is

FMTS is a catalog of home gym equipment with tools to filter it, plan a setup, track what you own, and watch prices. You do not need an account to browse, filter, build a setup, or share a setup link. You need an account to publish a setup, upload photos, post, vote, save and follow, and get emails.

Prices, stock, and store links

Prices shown are live estimates pulled from stores. They can lag behind the store. The price at checkout on the store's own site is the one that counts. We do not promise that any price, stock status, compatibility note, or shipping figure is correct. Shipping figures are estimates and never affect ranking.

When you buy from a store, you are dealing with that store. Its terms apply and you are responsible for the purchase.

FMTS is funded by affiliate links. If you click a store link and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never affects ranking. The rules are on how we rank.

No professional or safety advice

Price alerts and ownership records are tools for your own planning. Nothing on the site is professional, medical, or safety advice. Weight ratings and compatibility notes come from manufacturers and from the community. Verify them before you load a bar or hang on an attachment. DIY and step-by-step instructions are submitted by the community. We do not verify them, and you follow them at your own risk.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you post. That includes setups, reviews, questions, answers, photos, and step-by-step instructions.

You give FMTS a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, resize, and share your content on the site and in share previews, such as a setup card image. The license lasts as long as the content is posted. We may also keep a copy as needed for moderation and legal records.

When someone clones your setup, the clone copies only catalog products. It does not copy your photos or your free-text items.

Posting rules

  • Keep it about equipment.
  • No affiliate links of your own. Store links in posts are rewritten to our product pages or shown as plain text.
  • No spam.
  • No harassment.
  • Post only content you have the rights to.
  • Do not impersonate anyone.
  • Make no misleading safety claims.

Photos and video

We store photos only, and every photo upload requires an account. Your browser resizes and compresses the photo before upload, and our server removes hidden metadata such as GPS location before storing it. The owner reviews photos before they appear publicly, and until approved only you can see them. We never store video. Video on the site is a link to YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok, embedded from that platform, and that platform's own terms apply to it.

Selling used equipment

Members can list used equipment for sale. Every listing links to your own listing for the same item on another site, such as Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay, Mercari, Kijiji, SidelineSwap, or Nextdoor. Buyers contact you there, and that site's terms govern the conversation and the sale. We do not pass messages between buyers and sellers.

The sale is between you and the buyer. FMTS is not a party to it. We do not handle payments, hold money, ship anything, or guarantee the item, the price, the other person, or the other site. Meet in a public place, inspect before you pay, and never send money in advance to someone you have not met.

  • List only equipment you own and have the right to sell.
  • The linked listing must be yours and must be for the same item.
  • Describe it accurately, including damage, and use your own photos.
  • No stolen, recalled, counterfeit, or illegal items, and no items that are not home gym equipment.
  • No fake listings, bait pricing, or off-site payment scams.
  • Mark it sold or remove it once it is gone.

Every listing has a report button. We can remove any listing and close the account behind it, with or without notice, if it breaks these rules or looks like a scam.

Moderation and votes

The owner reviews photos before they appear, and reviews posts from accounts under 7 days old before they appear. Established accounts post instantly. Questions and answers have a report button. To report anything else, use the contact form.

The owner can hide or remove content, and can suspend or close accounts that break these rules or that manipulate votes. One account per person, and no vote rings. Votes count toward ranking only from eligible accounts, and suspicious voting is reviewed.

What belongs to us

The catalog, rankings, spec data, and site design belong to FMTS. You can share links to the site freely. You can use the site for personal, non-commercial planning. Citing a page with a link is fine.

Scraping the catalog wholesale, or republishing it, is not allowed.

As is, and our liability

The service is provided "as is", with no promises that it will always work or that what it shows is correct. You use it at your own risk.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited, and we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site or from buying equipment or following instructions you found here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law says cannot be limited.

Changes to the service and these terms

We can change the service and these terms. We announce material changes with a notice on the site. For account holders who opted into FMTS news, or whose account is affected, we also send an email. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept it.
